Our 30th GRB
Each GRB is a different experience and adventure, and this past Saturday was no exception .
We gathered at the Keo blacksmith as customary. From the start things weren't quite normal (if normal even exists haha ) for some people were missing who usually came while the logging times of others were different, but we got into two parties. Red Team started with me as def, Bran and Marce as battle priests, Ash and Fi as healing priests, and Jeff as archer. Blue Team had Browney as def, Moose as ranger (welcome Browney and Moose for their first GRB ), Tamao as mage, Slay as fighter, and Lore and Lissa as healing priests.
Five minutes until start time, Moose dced, but he logged back soon, thankfully, and we headed off for GRB. However, for some unknown reason, but probably due to lag, Lissa dced about time we got into the Guild Management Office (GMO). She never made it back .
Despite the unsettling trouble with dcs, we entered GRB and got busy.
Browney, lvl 15, entered his portal and waited for the rest of his team, which was all lvl 16+ after Lissa dced, to get through lvl 30 section. Meanwhile, I led everyone straight to Kalion's Lake, where my team stayed to kill a few mobs while I escorted Blue Team to their section.
Scarcely had I left my team, than they started getting into trouble. I gather that a mob got onto Bran while they were still organizing themselves after the run and, in the slight disarray, he died before he could be healed. Then Fi went down while she was trying to res him and I began to get worried, but there was not much need for that. Marce, Jeff, and Ash fended off whatever mobs were plaguing them and quickly resd Bran and Fi. Then they killed mobs without further trouble .
As soon as I had finished leading Blue Team to their section and we had picked up Browney, I pulled the boss, Silvanus, since the others couldn't take her hits. She didn't last long and then I left Blue Team and ran off back to my team, just as Jas finally made it .
I added her to Red Team and she managed to safely join the others while I was still running back. Since we had three healing priests in the party then, we decided Ash would heal, Fi would be backup healing, and Jas, who had a little int, would attack (or was it Fi attacking and Jas backup? lol can't remember now .
As soon as I had rejoined Red Team, we buffed up and I pulled the boss, Kalion. I was uncertain how it would go without a mage's damage overtimes, but Jeff used his archer's damage overtimes and we managed to take her down quickly . Then we started tanking.
Blue Team, was still having fun though. Slay was having some lag issues and there were some complaints that he, I believe, wasn't always waiting for taunt. Maybe he caught Jeff's trigger finger? But all went fairly well until Browney had to go eat, about fifteen minutes to end of GRB or so. Well, at that point, we couldn't really afford to run Red Team there, as it would take more than five minutes just to get there. For a few minutes I wasn't sure what to do, then I remember how tough my mage had been when he was lvl 30 in lvl 15 section and I had an idea.
I asked Tamao to tank . He was a little skeptical, as all people will be, because mages are just squishy toons lol, but, with a good priest behind him and the lvls he had over the mobs, he started tanking. Then, I'm not sure how it happened, but suddenly Slay was saying good luck and I quickly learned that everyone except Lore had died in Blue Team. It was very good that Lore, at least, survived, or Red Team would have had to make a valiant effort to get there and make up for lost time in the few minutes that were left. Slay, as UM, had no chance of being resd, but he joined Alan, who had logged too late to come with his def, in cheering us on . Lore, meanwhile, managed to res Tamao and Moose both. So, Blue Team was able to carry on killing mobs until time was called.
It was a tough GRB, but everyone did VERY well and I thank everyone very much for coming . We got over 10k points, which ranks us as 28th! We got the Etin from the bosses and some Etin has been gathered and turned in over the week, so we have somewhere around 3700 Etin . Good job everyone! keep up the good work .
Hope everyone had as much fun as I did and can come again next week, if you're not participating in GRB, please do . The more that come the more points we'll earn and fun we'll have . See you this Saturday .
